SARD Dashboard & MSF/360 layout updates - 24/02/2026

Changes to the Dashboard Layout

We have updated the Dashboard layout to improve usability on smaller laptop screens and mobile devices, as currently the top section takes up most of the available space limiting what else can be seen.

We have tried to keep everything else as familiar as possible, but have made a small number of additional improvements:

  • The previous Appraisals, MSFs and Job Plans now exclude the current item.
  • Instead of a link to the Portfolio and a link to the Appraisal form, we just have one link to the Appraisal – it will go to the Portfolio if that is what needs actioning next (if not the Appraisal form).
  • On the Overview, due dates are now shown in their own card rather than across the top.
  • The eLeave tab always includes a 'Book Leave' button, even when upcoming leave exists.
  • The 'Messages from your Organisation' pop-up will remain closed on a given browser until its content changes.

Changes to the MSF/360 Layout

We have also redesigned the MSF/360 interface to make it easier to navigate and complete. The new layout uses the same navigation menu as the Appraisal and Job Planning, which groups the MSF into clear sections: Overview, Self Assessment, Colleague Feedback, Patient Feedback, and Analysis & Report.

Key improvements include:

  • Overview page – a new landing page showing your overall progress at a glance, with status boxes for each section and a personalised "What to do next" list to guide you through the process. These are also shown in each section for the relevant MSF/360 component
  • Slideout menu with status icons – each section in the navigation menu now shows a colour-coded status indicator (red/amber/green), so you can quickly see what needs attention. This will show red when you need to action something, amber if waiting on others. Green means the section is complete or has reached the organisation's thresholds.
  • Responsive design – the new layout works better on smaller screens and mobile devices, with the navigation menu collapsing into a toggleable slideout on narrower displays. The content within each section remains largely the same, so completing your MSF/360 on SARD will still feel a familiar process.
