# What is the difference between uploading evidence from eDocs folder and uploading evidence from my device?

The process of uploading documents (evidence) to the Portfolio is virtually the same for files which are saved on your device, and for files already saved in your **eDocuments** folder.

Clicking on the the **Attach eDocument** button in a Portfolio section will open the Attach eDoc pop-up window with two sources (tabs) to choose from, that is **New eDocument** and **Existing eDocument**:

There is one advantage when uploading documents from your eDocs folder (via the Existing eDocument tab) in that multiple files can be uploaded to the Portfolio all at once. This is not possible when uploading evidence from a device via the New eDocument tab – each new file will need to be uploaded individually.

| Whether uploading a single file via New eDocument or multiple files via Existing eDocument, please ensure to click 'Create Evidence' in the Portfolio when you are done uploading evidence to a given Portfolio section. Otherwise, it will not be saved in your Portfolio/Appraisal form, but in your eDocuments folder only.

If you would like to upload many pieces of evidence to your eDocs folder in one go (which in turn will allow to upload them to the Portfolio at once as shown above), please see [this](https://sard.crisp.help/en/article/how-do-i-upload-multiple-files-to-my-edocuments-folder-y8gupj/) Helpdesk article.
