I can't start a new Job Plan despite having access to Job Planning. Why?

If you cannot see the Job Planning icon on your Dashboard, it means that you do not have access to this product. Should it be the case, please see this article.

If you are certain that you do have access to Job Planning but you cannot see the + New Job Plan button under the Job Planning section on your Dashboard, please read on.

Only one draft of Job Plan can be opened on SARD account at any given time.

You will be able to start a new draft of Job Plan as soon as the most recent Job Plan (either in the Draft or Submitted state) is:

signed off by all signatories including yourself and marked as Complete, or
archived by your organisation's administrator whose contact details can be found under System Support on your Dashboard, or
deleted entirely from the system – also to be authorised by the administrator for your organisation.

As an alternative, you can go to Section 2 (General Info) of your current Job Plan and change the Effective Date as appropriate.

For example, if you change the Effective Date from 01/04/2025 to 01/04/2026, it will change the span and the name from Job Plan Apr 2025 - Mar 2026 to (Job Plan) Apr 2026 - Mar 2027.

This solution may prove especially handy if the draft is empty or near-empty, requiring fewer, if any, updates to Section 4 (Timetable). There is one downside to it though: just like with deleting a Job Plan altogether, there will be no record on the system for that year (in the above case 2025/26) which may negatively impact your Job Planning Compliance.

We at SARD Customer Support Team are only able to delete empty drafts of Job Plans, that is without seeking administrator's permission. Everything else must be approved by your organisation's administrator as outlined above.
