# How to cancel leave in eLeave?

### Cancelling Requested Leave

If you would like to cancel leave which has not been approved just yet, please follow the steps below:

1. Click on the **Annual Leave (Requested)** to be cancelled either under eLeave - My Upcoming Leave on your Dashboard, or directly in the eLeave calendar.
2. Click on the **Cancel Leave** button.
3. Close the Cancelled Leave pop-up window with the blue 'Request successfully cancelled' banner on top.

You will notice that the just cancelled leave turned from amber (Requested) to grey (Cancelled) in your eLeave calendar and on your Dashboard.

### Cancelling Approved Leave

Should you wish to cancel leave which has been already approved, please follow these steps:

1. Click on the **Annual Leave (Approved)** to be cancelled either under eLeave - My Upcoming Leave on your Dashboard, or directly in the eLeave calendar.
2. Click on the **Request to Cancel** button.
3. Close the Requested To Cancel Leave pop-up window with the blue 'Request state changed to requested to cancel' on top.

Unlike with cancelling Requested Leave, the cancellation of Approved Leave will need to be authorised by your Leave Approver.

As soon as it happens, it will be reflected in your eLeave calendar and under eLeave - My Upcoming Leave on your Dashboard. The leave in question's status will turn from Approved highlighted green, to Requested to Cancel highlighted pink, to Cancelled highlighted grey.

You should also receive an automatic notification regarding the authorised cancellation of your approved leave request.

| If cancelling Approved Leave is requested promptly, that is on the day of the approval, you will see the 'Cancel Leave' button instead of the 'Request to Cancel' button. Should it be the case, no further input from a Leave Approver is required.
