ADMINISTRATOR: Adding Support Documents

This article would only be applicable to users with an Administrator system role on their account, as this feature would not be accessible for non-administrator users.

As an Administrator for your organisation, you can add supporting documents to the system for your staff to use, which will be made accessible to them in the Support Documents section under System Support icon on the right-hand side of their SARD Dashboard. Examples are documents relating to any Trust or Organisation’s specific policies and processes, templates and blank forms.

To view your current Support Docs list on your SARD site, click on the 'Miscellaneous' tab in the ADMIN view, then select 'Support Documents' from the drop-down menu.

To add a Support Doc, it will need to be part of a Support Doc Group, so that these are sorted into suitable categories, i.e., Trust Policy Documents. You can set up groups for your Support Documents by clicking on the + New Support Document Group button:

Once a group has been created, you can add documents by clicking on the + New Support Document button:

When adding a new Support Doc, you can select which document group to nest the new file under, give it a title to make it clearly visible in the list of documents, and then select the file from your computer:

As soon as it is done, press the green Save button on the right-hand side to finish the process. Once saved and uploaded, it will appear in the list on the Support Documents page:
Any supporting documents you make available to your users can be found on their SARD Dashboard under the Support Docs panel on the right-hand side:

Support Docs in the Portfolio

A useful feature is being able to copy the permalink for a Support Doc, to use in your Portfolio Datasets.

If you have a Document your staff should use, such as a Declaration of Interest form, you can upload it to the Support Docs list. Once it has been uploaded, click on the eye icon to view the details of the document. You can copy the link and add it to the guidance text of a Portfolio section as a hyperlink, allowing your staff to download it directly from the relevant Portfolio section.
