ADMINISTRATOR: Adding Hyperlinks to Support Docs
This article would only be applicable to users with an Administrator system role on their account, as this feature would not be accessible for non-administrator users.
You can add Hyperlinks across your site to any Support Docs you have uploaded for your users.
This is helpful if, for example, you have a form you wish to add to a Portfolio section for your Doctors to fill in and then upload again as evidence (e.g. a Declaration of Interests form). You can upload the Form as a Support Doc first, and once it has been uploaded, it will generate its own 'permalink' which you can use to link directly to the file within an area of the Portfolio, Appraisal etc. More can be read about this here.
To add a Hyperlink to the file, you will need to use some basic internet coding, or Hypertext Markup Language (HTML).
So using the example of adding a link to a Declaration of Interests form for your users, you would first need to ensure you've uploaded it to your Support Docs page.
Once it has been uploaded to your Support Docs, you can copy the Permalink by going to the Support Docs page and clicking on the eye icon next to the Support Doc to view the details, where you will find the Permalink as seen below:
You will need to copy the Permalink, and then go to the Portfolio section (category) you wish to link the file to.
So it would look like this, if you replace the text "support doc permalink" with the link to the support doc in question, and the text "linking words" with Declaration of Interests Form:
So the full guidance text, with the HTML would look like this:
Then press Save, to save your text, and it would appear to your users like this:
"Please download the Declaration of Interests form, fill it in and upload your completed form back to this section."
When the user clicks on the highlighted text, it will open the Support Doc that you have added the link to.
If you're unsure or get stuck at all, please let the Customer Support team know at support@sardjv.co.uk and we'll be happy to take a look for you.
